Soquel Demo Loop: The Soquel Demonstration forest is one of the only parks in the area to feature a large network of legal singletrack trails. The riding is moderate to difficult and, depending on where you park to access the trailhead, features a good amount of climbing. Driving Directions: From CA 17 at the border between Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties, exit Summit Road. Drive south on Summit Road about 4 miles, at which point Soquel-San Jose Road departs to the right, and Summit turns into Highland Way. Continue straight on Highland Way (there's no stop sign heading south or north). At the junction with Mount Bache, about 1 mile further south, turn right and then quickly left at Spanish Ranch Road to remain on Highland. Continue on Highland about another 4.3 miles, then park on the right side of the road near the signed entrance. Riding Directions: Once parked on Highland way, start climbing up Highland. Then you are going to bear right and continue climbing on a dirt road called Buzzard Lagoon Road. Then bear right once again onto Aptos Creek fire road and continue climbing. When you see the sign for Ridge Trail, take it. All the major trails come off of the ridge trail. We like Braille Trail and so you would take that down when you see the sign for it. Once at the bottom of any of the trails you will be on Hihn's Mill Road which if you take to the right will climb you back to highland way where you parked making an easy loop. *For a more detailed map or any other cycling accessories stop by the shop!
